10 months.

It is amazing that Gracie is 10 months old! Every month it gets more difficult to get her to sit still for a few photos. It was a lot easier when she laid/sat

I had to let her play with the cell phone just to get her to stay halfway still! IMG_3079

I am not sure who is calling her, but she looks intrigued!

Gracie is doing new things all the time. At 10 months, she is crawling like crazy and pulling up on the furniture. She cruises around on the furniture but doesn’t have any idea how to take steps on her own, which is just fine! She loves to spin in a circle when she is sitting on the floor playing with her toys. We aren’t sure where that trick came from, but it is very cute. She loves her bath but still hates having her hair washed. She has no time for getting dressed or diaper changes, regardless of the time of day. She has finally started waving and will usually wave if you say “bye-bye!”. She is inconsistent with playing high-5, put will oblige us from time to time. She still LOVES her food and is obsessed with Cheerios and puffies. She is usually pretty calm, but gets quite demanding when it comes to food. You cannot eat around her and not share. She loves bread and potatoes—mashed potatoes seem to be her favorite. She still loves music and has stared to “dance” when she hears music—she puts her hand up in the air and waves it awkwardly. She seems to have her mother’s dance moves, and it is adorable. She has recently developed an attachment to a small baby doll. She cannot say baby, but says “bu-bu” when she sees it. If we ask her where Baby is, she will go look for her. She also loves the Little People—she has a few that wear hats and those are her favorite. She will often carry Baby in one had and a Little Person in the other. She hasn’t quite figured out that she needs to hold on to something when she stands up so she often falls over due to her refusal to let go of a toy.

She is a very sweet girl and it is amazing that she will be 1 year old in 2 months!

Gracie Arrives.

I have been meaning to get into the habit of posting. I think about it every day. Then, the day gets away from me. But, I know there is so much that I am going to want to remember so I am going to try really hard to get something posted every week-day. May as well set the bar high, right? =) So, I thought I would start with a recap of Gracie's birth. Wed Oct 15th: We have our 39 week doctor appt. We are scheduled for an ultrasound before the dr visit. The ultrasound shows that the baby is 8 pounds 14 ounces. Mommy is a little stunned and has a hard time getting up and leaving the office. We see the dr and he explains that the baby could be one pound bigger or one pound larger than the weight the ultrasound showed. Either way we are looking at an 8-10 pound baby. Mommy is still in shock. The dr checks me and determines that nothing is really happening and things are not favorable to induce the baby. We can wait and see if I go into labor or we can schedule a c-section. If we get

Babywise Bootcamp.

We are engaged in a little Babywise  boot-camp at our house. Gracie's sleeping has gotten pretty bad and we have to do something. So, we are cracking down on her. It is not easy. Listening to her cry is just about the wost thing ever. I have been following the eat-play-sleep cycle from Babywise , but not much else. I have been putting her to sleep, while she listens to the vacuum cleaner or the stove fan. She is so used to napping on me that she won't sleep in her bed during the day. So, I end up holding her for nap-time so that she will actually take a nap. She does okay in her bed at night, most of the time. In the past week she has been up twice for 2-hour stretches in the middle of the night. As much as I love her, this isn't Mommy's favorite time to hang out with Gracie. It has become quite a struggle to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep. We are experiencing too many evenings of Gracie crying because she is up too late and can't fall asleep. Last night wa
